The Yanbian University of Science and Technology (YUST) was founded in 1992 through the collaboration of the People’s Republic of China and numerous foreign volunteers. It was the first Chinese joint-venture university in the Yanbian Autonomous Prefecture and grew to become one of the country’s top universities. YUST established a firm commitment to educating under the guiding principles of creativity, cooperation, and volunteerism in accordance with the university’s motto of “truth, peace, love.” The school’s international faculty devoted themselves to their student’s academic and personal development, preparing them to become both leaders in their fields and individuals of integrity and service. 

YUST held its final graduation in June 2021. The school is now in the process of transitioning into a private Chinese university. Administrators are working diligently to ensure the original mission of the school is preserved as new, like-minded leadership prepares to carry the legacy of YUST forward. YPF continues to support the administrators of YUST as they oversee this process, but we are not actively fundraising for the school at this time.
